Watts Trucks, an established leading commercial vehicle dealership operating in the three counties of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire, is expanding by merging with Cardiff Truck Centre, the DAF distributor in South Wales.
The Watts Truck Group will now have six outlets in South Wales and the West Country, forming the largest Truck and Van organisation in the region with sales, service and parts dealerships for DAF, LDV, Fiat and HINO brands.
Ray Nessbert will continue as Managing Director of Cardiff Truck Centre and will join the Watts Trucks board.
Ray Nessbert said: “I am excited to be joining Watts, which has a well respected heritage in the South Wales transport industry and an excellent reputation for customer service”.
Emrys Jones, Dealer Principal of Watts Truck Centre in Gloucester, said “I am sure that the enlarged Group will substantially enhance our services to our existing and new customers.”
The Watts family’s involvement in transport began with Arthur and his brother, John Watts, the Transport pioneer, at the beginning of the 20th Century. Their transport and regional bus services, which commenced in the South Wales Valleys, developed into a worldwide business.
John Thurston, grandson of Arthur Watts and the Group’s Chairman, said: “With four DAF outlets in three counties, the extra locations in Cardiff and Newport will help realise our ambition to further extend our DAF Sales & Service coverage and reinforce our commitment to the commercial vehicle business, providing a platform for future growth.”
